Undefeated Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0) defends his IBF, WBA, and WBO heavyweight t**les for the third time against British boxer Daniel Dubois (19-1) in Wrocław, Poland on Saturday, August 26. The fight starts at around 3:15 p.m. in Mexico City and can be seen in that country, as in all of Latin America, on ESPN and Star+. Dubois, the WBA regular champion, will attempt to surprise his first elite opponent, Usyk, who holds the super champion belt. Dubois earned this opportunity by winning convincingly against Trevor Bryan and Kevin Lerena. The Briton is considered a threat due to his impressive track record of 18 knockouts in 19 wins. However, he has struggled against opponents of lower rank than Usyk. For instance, he was knocked down three times in the first round by Lerena and also suffered a knockout defeat in 2020 against Joe Joyce.
Usyk makes his first defence of the year after beating Anthony Joshua in his last two fights: unanimous decision in 2021 and divided in 2022. The Ukrainian has gone to the cards in his last three fights, remembering that in 2020, he won by unanimous decision against Derek Chisora. Since his jump to the heavyweights in 2019, he has only been able to beat Chazz Witherspoon on the fast track.
