During Wrestle Kingdom 17, Mercedes Moné made her NJPW debut challenging KAIRI . The fighter, who was previously known under the name of Sasha Banks, said goodbye to her stage in and from this moment she is part of the Japanese company. However, it seems that she was not entirely safe for her arrival.
On the most recent edition of his FTR with Dax podcast , Dax Harwood revealed that Mercedes Moné was nervous walking down the aisle leading up to her NJPW debut . However, in the end she ended up proud of achieving it.
I know how it felt. She was proud, nervous, excited, scared… all the emotions, you know? She made that finishing move and no one knows what that was, how she felt about it. But how proud she was at the time and how nervous she was walking down the aisle, everyone can relate to that and I know she was so happy with herself because she did it her way. She stood up for what she believed in, what she thought was right and she was able to probably achieve what she had long dreamed of.
Mercedes Moné will have her first official fight in NJPW Battle in the Valley, when she faces KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship on February 18. Great things are expected in this new stage for the former superstar.
